Our Story
We are an association founded in 2013 with the aim of supporting European Democracy through civic education in Germany and in Europe. Our association was born out of peer-education projects in European civic education and most of our ca. 50 members are active or former actors in civic and non-formal education who now work in various fields of society and politics. We especially take pride in supporting our younger sister-project and affiliated peers, the “Young European Professionals” of the German Agency for Civic Education and the Regional Representation of the European Commission in Bonn. We were founded by and also serve as the alumni association of the “YEPs”.
Today
Most importantly, we also lead our own projects and serve as speakers and trainers in civic education. Moreover, as we are in a period of transition and growth with our association, this is a great time to revisit this website again soon and follow our activities closely – or directly get in touch with us to discuss ways of cooperating! For this, feel free to drop our board / community managers a line @ “vorstand@geg-ev.org“.
Board
Our elected board, who is available for your questions, leads the organisation and is made up of the following three individuals:
Cornelia Pürschel, Alena Hahn (chairwomen)
Andreas Gerckens (treasurer)
